Ever noticed Salman Khan’s peculiar way of walking? With his hands protruding outside, and a stiff gait? Turns out that having more muscles can actually impact a person’s walking style.
Explains Tollywood fitness trainer Kuldep Sethi, “Having more muscle mass changes the symmetry of the body and consequently, the gait of the individual. With bigger muscles, the range of motion is decreased. Having larger back and arm muscles makes the individual’s arms protrude outwards, thereby making the individual walk differently.”
He adds, “Strength training every day without adequate stretching in between keeps the muscles in a contracted position and limits the range of motion, which in turn changes the manner in which a person walks or stands. To prevent this from happening, ensure that proper stretching is incorporated before and after the training sessions.”
Further, Sethi says, “The kind of training one indulges in differentiates one’s body type. For example, Salman Khan does a lot of strength training which makes him look more like a body builder whereas someone like Akshay Kumar also incorporates athletic workouts in his training. This makes him look lean and athletic, which is in tune with his personality.”
