Javed Akhtar pens beautiful poems for Karan Johar's twins

The lyricist wrote two poems, one for each baby, explaining the meaning of their names.

Almost everyone from tinsel town has been showering Karan Johar’s twins, Roohi and Yash, with love and gifts. The latest one to join the group is writer Javed Akhtar, who created a unique gift — a beautiful poem, one for each of the twins. In the poems, the lyricist explains the real meaning behind the babies’ names.

Akhtar’s poem for Yash read, “Dictionary mein naamon ke matlab nahi hote, bas unse milte julte kuchh shabd hote hain, maan ka matlab to hota hai logon ki yaadon mein, jaise mujhko yaad hai Yash Johar ka matlab.”

For Roohi he wrote, “Nannhi munni Roohi, tumko chupke se is baat bataaon, apne naam ki zara talaashi jo tum logi, ismein chhupi ik ladki milegi, chaandi jaise khanke aisi hasi hai uski, aur uska sone ka dill hai.”

While Karan named his son after his father Yash Johar, Roohi is an anagram of his mother’s name Hiroo. Overwhelmed by the gesture, Karan Johar shared the photos of the poems and thanked Javed Akhtar. “Thank you Javedsaab.... this will always remain truly special to us.... we love you lots!! Yash.... Roohi... and me... (sic).”
