Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee was the name of the first film that Mahesh Bhatt made for television, which was inspired by his love story with late actress Parveen Babi.
Bhatt, who had gone into rehabilitation for drinking, spoke of his tumultuous relationship with Babi, who had become schizophrenic after a series of incidents involving the men in her life shattered her completely. Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Roy played the leads in that film.
Bhatt’s swansong earlier, before he decided to reload Sadak this year, was a film called Zakhm in which he explored his relationship with his mother — played by Pooja Bhatt — with Ajay Devgn playing his character. Having hung up his gloves later, Mahesh explored the same subject in a film called Woh Lamhe later, starring Kangana Ranaut.
“Having heard of the script in bits and parts, as films have a limited length, we will now get the entire story in the form of a web series. Jio Studios as well as Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh films will bankroll the project. The director has been locked and will be announced soon. As for the star cast, it is being finalised at the moment,” informs an industry source.
