Box-office: Ranveer's Befikre barely manages a decent opening weekend figure

The film is suffering eveidently due to the predominantly critical reviews, resulting negative word of mouth

Mumbai: Aditya Chopra's 'Befikre' had released with a lot of hope and hype riding on it, since the industry has been reeling under the debacles that were the string of sequels that November played host to.

Its leading man, Ranveer Singh, has been the toast of the town for over a year now and the music had been fairly successful as well.

However, upon release, the critics predominantly panned the film, and the word of mouth has been generally negative as well.

Despite of that, the tremendous promotional campaigns paid off and the film had a decent opening of approximately 10.36 crore rupees on Friday. However the numbers stagnated and failed to grow substantially, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The film grossed 11.60 crore rupees and 12.40 rupees approximately, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

For the film to sail through, it's imperative for a good Monday score, followed by good weekday numbers.

But with the word of mouth and generic consensus around the film being this cynical, the plausibility seems highly bleak.
