After Salman's rape remark, Sultan director follows suit, gives sexist interview

The filmmaker recently spoke about how a working woman needs to give up her work once she gets pregnant.

Mumbai: Salman Khan has been in the eye of the storm over his comment that he "felt as worn out as a raped woman" after the gruelling shoot of his upcoming film 'Sultan'. Now, the films' director Ali Abbas Zafar has followed suit by voicing his sexist thoughts.

Recently, in an interview to Anupama Chopra, the filmmaker spoke about how a working woman needs to give up her work once she gets pregnant. He said, “Whenever the issue of pregnancy comes in, the girl may be a working woman, but now she will have to give up her work because psychically she needs to do that.”

He goes on to add, "That is the time when getting the so-called animal instinct into human being, the man will go an hunt and the woman will stay at home and we can't deny it."

In the film 'Sultan', Anushka gives up her wrestling career for the birth of her child. Talking about the same, Ali says, "She had to choose whether she chooses something aspirational or emotional. She kills her aspiration for an emotional thing and according to me that is a very human thing."
