Times have changed and for the better. No longer do love stories alone pull audiences to the theatres. Surprisingly, a film like 102 Not Out, that stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor revolving around the lives of two senior citizens, succeeded in keeping the cash register ringing. While this is a clear sign that the audiences loved the film, Mr. Bachchan says even his family loved the film.
“My family really liked the film, the children loved it. Madam (Jaya) is critical of my work. A lot of the times she won’t even say anything. This time, she told me the timing of the film is really nice,” Big B said.
Commenting on Jayaji’s instinct, he says, “There are big, sci-fi Hollywood projects releasing like Avengers and suddenly here is our small film, which will make a place in people’s heart. She was right,” he said.
102 Not Out is an adaptation of a popular Gujarati play. The movie tells the story of the bond between a 102-year-old father (played by Amitabh Bachchan) and his 75-year-old son (Rishi Kapoor).
The megastar, who has performed in many films, says that he still gets nervous before the release of his films. Big B says, “It’s always there. From the day we begin, much before the release, that’s all we talk about — what is going to happen, how many theatres, how much do we expect, if people are going to like it or not. That’s always a worry for us.” And this multi-talented person chooses to stay away from direction.
“I don’t know direction and I’ll never be able to do that. Actually, that’s a question, I always wanted to know why and what goes through a director’s mind when he has to place a camera in a particular angle and position,” the 75-year-old said....
