Mumbai: While Kangana Ranaut has often earned praise for speaking up in her rows with Hrithik Roshan, Aditya Pancholi and Adhyayan Suman, this is the first time it has perhaps backfired purely because of its timing.
Singer Sona Mohapatra and several others have pointed out the actress is making these claims just before the release of her film ‘Simran’ this Friday.
While her statements against Hrithik Roshan have not received a response like always, her ex-boyfriend Aditya Pancholi got all agitated and is now contemplating taking legal action for her ‘lies.’
And now Aditya’s wife, actress Zarina Wahab, whose name was also dragged into the controversy, has also reacted.
Kangana has said in a recent TV interview that she confided in Zarina after Aditya’s abusive behaviour got too much for her to handle. She is also reported to have said that Zarina considered her like a daughter.
Kangana said in the interview that Zarina's response to her request for help was: "I am glad that my husband does not come home any more."
Zarina has slammed Kangana’s claims in an interview to entertainment portal Pinkvilla.
The actress said, “I was going through some articles on my mobile and I read Kangana has said ‘She (Zarina) used to treat her (Kangana) like a daughter… This is completely untrue! When I knew she was dating my husband, how could I say she was like my daughter? That is ridiculous! Usually, I don’t react to such things, but these two things have been really upsetting! I was very upset when I read it! She was dating my husband (Aditya) for four-and-a-half-years. How could I say she was like my daughter? She has told national television that she’s (Kangana) like my daughter (Sana)… What nonsense is Kangana talking about?”
About Kangana confiding in her post Aditya’s alleged abusive and possessive behaviour, Zarina said, “There was no question of that happening. If she was dating my husband, how could she come to me? People who talk like this should have some brains. I met Kangana a few times because my husband wanted me to take her to Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
First of all, I never discuss my problems even with my own sisters. Who is she (Kangana) to me that I would discuss with her whether I was happy that my husband was not coming home? What nonsense is she talking about? I should not say anything about her. These things are really bugging me! I am not that stupid to treat her like my daughter! Am I going around blindfolded, oblivious to the goings on in the world? I know what happened, but I don’t react and that’s a different thing. Everybody has a different way of dealing with life, and my way is different from others. I read this on Google and I reacted. Otherwise, I am the last person to react.”
While Aditya, on one hand, seemed angry about Kangana’s claims, he had also expressed serious concerns for what the actress was saying in recent interviews. Zarina echoed his views, “If I start talking like her, then what is the difference between her and me? I will only say one thing. She knows and so do we what is in Kangana's past. But today, considering the successful position she is in, I wish she had behaved in a more dignified manner... If she had behaved in a more dignified way, I would have liked it. I don’t want to counter any allegation.
What else can I say about it? If she found Aditya to be such a bad person, why was she with him? They were together for four-and-a-half years. When I first heard what she was saying, I felt bad for her actually. This is not the time that she should talk. Now what can I say, she can do whatever she wishes, but till today, I have never wished ill for anyone.”
Does Zarina feel Kangana is making these claims to promote her film ‘Simran’? She said, “I think she is promoting her film. She should not say such things. What is the point of digging up stuff that is 14 to 15 years old? Everyone knows she was a struggler back then, and I don’t want to talk about it. There’s no point talking about it. We don’t want to say anything right now because whatever we say will affect her film as it’s going to release soon, so let things be for now. When the right time comes, we will talk.”
It would be interesting to see if all these sensational claims actually help Kangana’s ‘Simran’ in opening well at the box office....
