Box office: Arjun's Daddy fails to keep up with Sunny's Poster Boys on weekend

Seems like word of mouth didn't quite work for Arjun Rampal's much awaited film 'Daddy'.

Mumbai: Last Friday, two films released at the box office; Ajrun Rampal’s much awaited gangster flick ‘Daddy’ and Sunny and Bobby Deol starrer ‘Poster Boys’.

While ‘Daddy’ opened to Rs 1.25 crore approx and went on to mint Rs 1.50 crore approx on Saturday, ‘Poster Boys’ already had the lead with Rs 1.75 crore approx on Friday and took it further ahead as it made a good jump the second day by collecting Rs 2.50 crore approx at the box office.

On Sunday, both the films witnessed a good footfall and received a nice jump. However, Arjun’s ‘Daddy’ couldn’t quite catch up to Poster Boys’ and fell behind with its total weekend collection of Rs 4.50 crore approx. Whereas Sunny and Bobby’s film managed to pick up a good speed as it earned Rs 7.25 crore approx on its first weekend, clearing wining the box office battle against ‘Daddy’.

It’s not like anyone expected any of these films to set the box office on fire. However, it was slightly expected of ‘Daddy’ to do better business than this. But sadly, the word of mouth didn’t work in the film’s favour.
