Horror is still an untapped genre, says Anushka Sharma
She knows just which films to pick to balance out her popularity and still experiment with new genres of films that many actors are scared to venture into. After experimenting with different types of film, Anushka Sharma, who will be seen in a horror film Pari, says that horror is the genre remains relatively unexplored in Bollywood.
“I have always been unconventional with my choices as an actor and especially as a producer. Yes, horror is a genre that we have not tapped into. I don’t want to divulge any details about Pari but it’s definitely something that we have not seen before on our screens,” said Anushka.
While the makers have kept the story of Pari under wraps, the film is reportedly a supernatural horror thriller, which has not been experimented with before in the Hindi cinema.
“As an A-list actress, I want to emphasise on content and bring in elements that have not been tried before. If I succeed, then it will add value to it. It’s something that people are not getting into because many times people have this mentality that they need one person to start something and then everybody starts doing it. And I don’t mind being the person who tries new things,” smiled the actress.
“I have used my stardom to push the envelope. I hope more people get into such territories,” she added.
