Watch: Diljit Dosanjh's soulful Ikk kudi shows Alia Bhatt like never before

Mumbai: Post the energetic number 'Chitta ve', Alia Bhatt has launched the second song from her upcoming film 'Udta Punjab', also staring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.

The song titled 'Ikk kudi' brings a dark story of prevalent drug menace in Punjab. It also highlights Alia's journey in the film. While the song has been penned down by Late Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi, it has been composed and sung by Amit Trivedi and Diljit Dosanjh respectively.

Alia shared the song and wrote, "#IkkKudi !!! My fav song from the film sung by the super fabulous @diljitdosanjh"

The film directed by Abhishek Chaubey deals with the murky state of affairs of a generation that finds pleasure in substance abuse. It revolves around the lives of four protagonists - Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.

While Shahid looks every bit of the Punjabi rockstar, Tommy Singh, Alia impresses with her Bihari accent. On the other hand, Kareena plays a doctor who is determined to stop the illegal transportation of drugs. The film will also mark the Bollywood debut of Diljit, who will essay the role of a police officer.
