Rock On 2, Force 2, Kahaani 2, Tum Bin 2: It's raining sequels this season

Mumbai: Sequels have been a dependable formula for commercial cinema since a while now, but never has so many sequels been up for release in this quick a succession.

With Shujaat Saudagar's 'Rock On!! 2', a sequel to Abhishek Kapoor's cult 'Rock On!!,' from 2008 up for release tomorrow, the chain of sequels commence.

The film, which has Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and Purab Kohli returning to reprise their characters from the prequel, also has Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora join 'Magik,' and easily amongst the most anticipated films in recent memory.

Anubhav Sinha, who'll be coming up with his 'Tum Bin II,' a sequel to his much adored debut directorial, 'Tum Bin,' next week is pretty excited to have worked with relative newcomers in Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati. The music of the film has already become a chartbusting affair.

However, the film that is slated to release on November 18, is all set to lock horns with Abhinay Deo's 'Force 2,'.

The film, a sequel to Nishikant Kamath's 'Force,' an out-and-out action affair, which starred John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza in the lead roles while introducing Vidyutt Jammwal to the world, has John reprising his no-nonsense cop avatar. But this time round, he'll be joined by Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin as the antagonist.

Apart from these November releases, Vidya Balan will be coming up with her 'Kahaani 2: Rani Durga Singh,' on December 3.

The film, a sequel to Vidya's career deciding 'Kahaani,' will be director Sujoy Ghosh's return to home terrain, and this time round, the duo has Arjun Rampal for company.

The film, which was initially all set to clash with Alia Bhatt-Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dear Zindagi' on November 23rd, pushed the release to early December, later on.

With so many exciting sequels waiting to burst out, this is one exciting period for cinema lovers.
