Mumbai: Ram Gopal Varma’s critically acclaimed ‘Satya’ turned out to be the turning point in the career of Manoj Bajpayee as he gained popularity for his role at that time. The actor-director duo worked again in the film ‘Kaun’ and also in films like ‘Shool’ and ‘Road’ where Varma was the producer. However, the benchmark set with ‘Satya’ could not be replicated in the subsequent films. Moreover, the duo did not work with each other after these films and after 14 years, that is set to change. Varma and Bajpayee are all set to come together again in the third installment of the former’s popular franchise ‘Sarkar’.

"Manoj owes his career to Varma for giving him his big break in Satya. So, when the filmmaker called him up to offer 'Sarkar 3', he could not say no to him," a source was quoted as saying to Mid-Day.

‘Sarkar 3’ will be see Amitabh Bachchan play the protagonist but Abhishek and Aishwarya, who were seen in the earlier films, will not be a part of this film. Varma had stated that Bachchan will be getting back to his ‘angry young man’ avatar for the film.
