Bhoomi trailer: Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari are thick as father-daughter
Mumbai: When the news of Sanjay Dutt returning to films with Omung Kumar’s ‘Bhoomi’ broke, everyone expected it to be a film that will portray how good an actor this veteran movie star is and viola, the trailer of this family drama has indeed lived up to its expectations.
One real surprise element in the trailer is Aditi Rao Hydari as a vulnerable Indian girl trapped in the hands of a goon and unforgiving society. Not that we ever questioned her skills to emote on screen, but here she has brought her acting prowess to the forefront. Undoubtedly, it is by far her best!
Embroiled in a conflict of contrasting ideologies, both the victims of circumstances—Aditi Rao hydari as the dutiful daughter and Sanjay Dutt as her protective father—are riveting and their tale is one that evokes emotions of parental love, sympathy, rage and compassion.
Sharad Kelkar as a malicious local goon, who does not take 'no' for an answer and has perhaps never heard of terms like 'consent', is exactly the kind of man we all dread running into.
‘Bhoomi’ is a revenge saga by Omung Kumar of ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Sarabjit’ fame. This film marks the comeback of Sanjay Dutt.
It is slated to clash with Shraddha Kapoor's 'Haseena Parkar' on September 22.
