Mumbai: When Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan appeared in Sidharth Anand's 'Bang Bang' back in 2014, though a lot many were skeptical about the film's cinematic excellence, none had an altercation over its very evident grandeur.
And when news of a rumoured 'sequel' started doing the rounds with the names of Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez associated to it, people were excited at the prospect of a glossy affair.
Though the makers would later clarify that the film isn't a sequel, christen it 'Reload,' and then go on to rechristen it 'A Gentleman,' the film still holds the very essence that gave 'Bang Bang' an identity.
The first trailer, hence, quite expectedly, reminds one of the potboiler.
Sidharth Malhotra is at his suave best as a boy-next-door with a regular, well-paying job, while a hot-as-ever Jacqueline Fernandez wishes for him to be more edgy.
Cut to the double role, were a doppelganger is kicking some serious ass as a grungy, no-nonsense guy meddling with the bad, bad world.
The film has the music going for it, and Raj-DK's inventive direction guiding it through predictability.
While one may predict the plotline from the trailer with relative ease, the editing must be lauded for its tautness, for assuring that the film is going to impress its target audience well enough.
Another plus point of the film is the fact that Suniel Shetty, with his newly acquired lumberjack sex appeal will be seen making a big-screen comeback.
An out-and-out juggernaut from the word go, 'A Gentleman' is slated for an August 25 release.
