Arjun gets candid about his heartbreak at the trailer launch of Half Girlfriend

Mumbai: At the trailer launch of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Half Girlfriend', Arjun got candid and made some revelations about his take on the idea of being in an open or live-in relationship.

While making such revelations, Arjun made some confessions about suffering heartbreak.

The actor confessed, “I was with someone before and I thought I’ll officially ask her out, but on the same day, we met at a party and she came with a guy. I thought it would be her brother, but she said, ‘Meet him, he’s my boyfriend. He just asked me out.’ She is now married and in England.”

Arjun, who prepped extremely hard to get into the skin of Madhav Jha, the Bihari character that he is playing in the film, further spoke about the mentality of Indian parents towards such open relationships. He added, “I haven't sat down with my family to discuss this topic beyond a point. If you talk about India on a whole, yes, parents have certain reservations. They would like their children to find the correct partner and stick and stand by that person. My family has implicit faith in me, that whomever I select, they know that I would select her for all the right reasons. But I really haven't sat down and spoken to my parents about all of this. I'm very certain about my family being respectful about my choice and trusting me by making the right decision. A family is eventually selfish, they want your happiness.”

Directed by Mohit Suri, ‘Half Girlfriend’ is slated to release on May 19, 2017.
