John Abraham plays the lead in RAW, is this why Sushant Singh Rajput opted out?

RAW' will be shot in Nepal, Gujarat, Srinagar and Delhi within a 60-day-schedule commencing from June 1, 2018.

Mumbai: The makers of ‘Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW)’ had released its first look even before the movie went on floors. It then starred Sushant Singh Rajput, but the actor opted out, and now has been reportedly replaced by John Abraham.

According to a report on Filmfare, a source close to the project revealed that it took place since John and Ajay Kapoor, who happens to be one of the producers of ‘RAW’, have already collaborated on John’s next release ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’.

Director Ajay Kapoor even told DNA, “We are excited to have John on board this film with us. The process began when we were brainstorming on whom to cast for the protagonist’s part and thought that John would fit the bill perfectly. He really liked the script and gave his nod on the same day as the narration. We have revisited the script of this espionage-drama which is set in the 1970s and we can’t wait to take it on the floors”.

Ajay, commenting on Sushant Singh Rajput’s exit from the film, said, “Nothing went wrong except that the dates Sushant had given us were clashing with another film so we decided to part ways amicably. Obviously one feels bad as we had finished most of the prep and were ready to roll. But everything is sorted now, Sushant is like a brother.”

‘RAW’ will be shot in Nepal, Gujarat, Srinagar and Delhi within a 60-day-schedule commencing from June 1, 2018.
