It was in 1975 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had declared a state of emergency across the country.
Anupam took over the former Supreme Court Judge Ashok Ganguly and Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in a debate recently.
Kolkata: Anupam Kher didn't mince words as he took on the former Supreme Court Judge Ashok Ganguly and Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in a recent debate but he failed to get his facts right.
Anupam not only expressed his opinion over intolerance debate but also targeted Congress, accusing them of hypocrisy and double standards. However, the one thing that went unnoticed is that Anupam said that the emergency was declared in the year 1984. It was in 1975 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had declared a state of emergency across the country.
It is quite evident that Anupam mixed up the 1984 Sikh riot with the emergency. Watch the video here.
