Did Akshay Kumar give a helping hand to Salman Khan for Dabangg 3?

Mumbai: In a recent promotional event, Arbaaz Khan spilled the beans to Deccan Chronicle over the female lead in ‘Dabangg 3’. He said, “Sonakshi Sinha will be a part of the film. We will have a second heroine but who is that depends upon the script. Once the script will be in place, we will see that how much my love interest is required in the film and then we will consider Mahie Gill.”

It was also speculated earlier that Iulia Vantur could be the actress. But with Iulia stating that Bollywood is not her priority anymore despite having done an item number in a film earlier, the makers have now finalised 'Bigg Boss 10' contestant Mouni Roy in the film. Mouni who makes her screen debut opposite Akshay Kumar in ‘Gold’ has a very different personality and role in the film.

A close source reveals that, “Salman was not only impressed with Mouni’s conduct on the reality show but his close friend Akshay Kumar also spoke high of the actress as Mouni is all set to debut with ‘Gold’. The role of the actress in ‘Dabangg’ is still under wraps.” This development has made fans only more impatient for the film’s release.

Akshay Kumar is currently tasting the success of 'Padman' which also stars Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte in pivotal roles and Amitabh Bachchan in a cameo appearance.
