Mumbai: Recently ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Shivaay’ clashed at the box-office, but both the films managed to do decent business at the box-office. The fact that both films had popular actors could have been a factor behind it.
However, when a film with lesser-known stars clashes with one having more popular stars, the former already has a tough battle on hand to get the required number of screens.
Moreover, with the Narendra Modi government announcing the scrapping of Rs. 500 and 1000 notes from Wednesday to weed out black money, the citizens of the country would definitely be extra cautious while spending money over the weekend.
That is the reason the makers of Rajneesh Duggal-starrer ‘Saansein’ have decided to postpone the release of the film. The film was earlier scheduled to clash with ‘Rock On 2’ on November 11, but with the government’s recent move, the makers have decided to push it further.
A source revealed, "It would be difficult for people to prioritize a film over the weekend keeping in mind the common man wanting to get use to this change, hence the makers have decided to push the film ahead."
Goutam Jain, the producer of the film, stated, "After an internal meeting with the team and with respect to Modiji's decision, as an investor, the best was to push the release of the film."
The film is directed by Rajiv S Ruia and also stars Sonarika Bhadoria, Hiten Tejwani & Neetha Shetty.
