The cast of upcoming Hindi film Housefull 4, led by Akshay Kumar and actresses Pooja Hegde, Kriti Sanon and Kriti Kharbanda, was recently in Hyderabad to promote their film. Akshay Kumar attended the event with a bald pate, only to clarify later that it was the magic of make-up, and not really a bald head. Apart from launching a song from the film, the actor even danced for the Bala Bala song along with a few members of the audience.
Asked if he would do the same film in Telugu, and the actor was quick to respond, “I would love to do a Telugu film, but somebody has to cast me. I don’t speak the language, but I can certainly try and learn it. I am ready.” Among the various looks that the actor has tried out for his different films, Akshay lists 2.0 as the most difficult one. “The look in 2.0 with Rajini Sir was the hardest look ever in my 30-year-career. It took nearly three and a half hours to put it on and one and half hours to take it off! We shot nearly three hours continuously with that make-up on,” he recalls.
Describing his upcoming film as “a fun film with an element of reincarnation”, Akshay says it is a continuation of the earlier Housefull films. “Whenever I need a holiday, I do a film called Housefull,” he says, adding, “I just wanted to relax and enjoy myself. This is a film which you can watch with your family and chill out.” So is it a coincidence that all the three female leads of Housefull 4 have worked in the South before? “I too have worked with a lot of South Indian directors and learnt a lot from them. Whether it’s Priyan Sir, Shankar Sir or Murugadoss, I have learnt to be professional and punctual from them. So if the actresses have worked in the South, they are already very professional and it becomes easy for me to work with them,” explains the actor, who confesses that he has never really explored Hyderabad as a city.
“I usually drive straight to RFC for the shooting of my films. Jaanwar is the only Hindi film which I shot near Charminar, otherwise I have never shot in the city,” shares the actor who admits that he likes biryani. Revealing a funny incident, Akshay says, “The organisers called a few people to come to this event with their heads shaved. However, at the last minute, they cancelled their plans. Meanwhile, several people actually showed up with bald heads and announced that they had ‘come to shoot for the film!’”
