Hyderabad: ‘Golmaal’ is one of the most-loved franchises, and the captain of the ship- Rohit Shetty, who is currently busy shooting in Hyderabad’s Ramoji film city says that he won’t leave the ‘Golmaal’ franchise, until the audience leaves it.
He adds, “If I get a story again, I’ll definitely do ‘Golmaal 5’, I won’t leave the franchise. We had penned the script for ‘Golmaal Again, even before ‘Dilwale.”
Talking about the 7-year long gap between ‘Golmaal 3’ and 4, the talented filmmaker says, “Since, the franchise’ rights were with Shree Astavinayak Cine Vision earlier, I wanted to buy the rights from them. So the legality ate up time and therefore ‘Golmaal Again’ got delayed. However, I’ve taken the rights now.”
The filmmaker is known for not leaving his actors and production crew, which is evidently visible in all his films. While Ajay Devgn, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemmu, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor have been retained; Kareena Kapoor, who played a pivotal role in the second and third series of the film, is not a part of the fourth installment.
When quizzed him about rumours floating of Kareena doing a cameo in the film, he rhetorically said, “If I have to, will do a wholesome film with Kareena, why a cameo?”
Further asked, if he misses her, he answered it diplomatically.
“It’s a different story altogether. When you see the film, you’ll understand. It’s not a suspense element. I’ll reveal the story if we say why we needed a girl like Parineeti,” stated Shetty.
The chirpy Parineeti Chopra has stepped into the league now, with Tabu as an extra addition, who is said to be the backbone of the film, and a character, which wasn’t seen in any of the Golmaals yet.
Apart from 'Golmaal Returns' and 'Golmaal 3,' Rohit had collaborated with Kareena for his other hit brand 'Singham's sequel, which was a massive success.
Earlier, there were rumours that Rohit Shetty found it odd and awkward to approach the then pregnant Kareena for 'Golmaal Again.'...
