Khalnayak Returns with Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Dutt
The Khalnayak dream team — Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Dutt — are back together for the film’s sequel, Khalnayak Returns. According to a source, Ghai’s Mukta Arts and Sanjay Dutt productions have entered an agreement to produce the film by the end of the year. The script is currently in the final stage and the casting is underway too.
Ghai confirmed, “Yes, it’s confirmed. Mukta Arts and Sanjay Dutt Productions have made an agreement to produce Khalnayak Returns by the end of 2016.
Sanjay will play Ballu Balram who comes out of jail after 20 years. We are working on the script and once it's complete, we will announce the rest of the cast and credits. We are looking out for a young director and an exciting cast.”
There were rumours that Tiger Shroff would be part of the sequel, but the director cleared the air saying, “We have not signed Tiger Shroff. We are still waiting to complete the script and will take a call on the rest of cast once that’s over. There is a lot of excitement around the film so we are waiting for the right time to announce its further developments. Khalnayak was a cult classic and a great success at the box office in the 90s. With so much of hard work and excitement around its sequel, it will surely be something to know who is going star in it.”
