Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput has been struggling with his choice of roles that he has been making in the recent past. Barring the big hit MS Dhoni and Kedarnath last year, Sushant’s films have always been box office disasters even though there has never been an iota of doubt about his performances or even the quality of the films.
Now, the actor is seriously looking at doing films that have a better commercial value, says a trade know all.
“Sushant Singh has been plain unlucky with his films. Sonchiriya should have done well, but the language became the barrier. Even a film like KGF did well in the dubbed version. So, Sushant is now clearly looking at films that can better his market value. No one can dispute that he is one of the better actors in the younger generation but then producers and distributors often wonder which horse to bet on based on past performances,” informs a trade source.
“Sushant’s team is seriously advising him to take up challenges surely but then also pick up commercial projects to boost his market value,” adds the source. But will the actor relent? Only time will tell.
