Exclusive: Shamas Siddiqui not sure if brother Nawazuddin would do his directorial

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother Shamas Nawab Siddiqui is gearing up to direct his first feature film and says he is keen to cast his brother. However, he is not sure whether Nawaz has dates available for his film.

Says Shamas, “My film will go on floors this December. It’s a romantic drama of a middle-class family and is inspired by the type of films that Amol Palekar and Hrishikesh Mukerjee used to make. It’s a family-oriented drama and my first choice for this film is Nawaz because he suits the character. Let’s see if he has got dates for me or not, because he is busy till December this year. If he has time and likes my script, he will come on board.”

Shamas has earlier directed a short film Miyan Kal Aana, which was screened at Cannes International Film Festival.
