I have no high school experience, says Ekta Kapoor
Ekta Kapoor made her first public and press appearance after her baby through surrogacy Ravie Kapoor was introduced to the world and she made no bones that she wanted to keep the information about her little one rather secretive.
“It is a private love story and I want to keep it private. It’s a new beginning, I just want you all to just give your wishes,” says Ekta on the sidelines of an event to launch an Alt Balaji web series Puncch Beat. “It is a bit of multi-tasking,” she says as she goes on to extoll the virtues of her show which is shepherded by Big Boss fame Vikas Gupta.
“It is a very strong script and there are so many layers in it. I love most of the performances in the series. What I also love about is that there are all these boys who Vikas has gotten to move around without shirts,” she guffaws about the series that is about high school life.
But Ekta, who is giving a digital platform to this high school series, also comes up with a shocker. “I really don’t have any high school experience myself because I started working too early. But this show is so aspirational that there is nothing realistic in it. But it is such escapism for young India and Vikas has really done it very well,” says Ekta.
Puncch Beat is about a boxing tournament in school and premieres on Valentine’s Day.
