SS Rajamouli to cast Rajinikanth, Mohanlal and Aamir Khan in Mahabharat?
Mumbai: Though the entire nation is awaiting the releasing of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion,' SS Rajamouli seems to have already marked his eyes on his next project, touted to be even grander.
The ace director had expressed his desire to direct a trilogy based on the Mahbharata, and Rajamouli, known for his intricately woven cinematic opulence and grandeur, might kickstart the project after the release of his highly anticipated sequel.
And the latest buzz is that he plans to cast none other than Rajinikanth, Mohanlal and Aamir Khan in the film. Aamir, incidentally, had expressed his interest in the project, a few months back, even going on to reveal Lord Krishna and Karna as his preferred characters.
Rajamouli had once expressed his keen interesting in casting Mohanlal in one of his films, with rumours having floated around about a project christened 'Garuda'. However, he's never worked with Rajini previously.
Though it is still unclear which roles the three would be approached for, the film is set to be mounted on a mammoth budget of 400 crore rupees.
While Rajini and Aamir had worked on 'Aatank Hi Aatank,' Mohanlal is yet to work with the two superstars.
Interestingly, Mohanlal is also set to do the Mollywood adaptation of 'Randamoozham,' a re-telling of the Mahabharata from Bheema's perspective. The film, set on an estimated budget of over 600-crore rupees, is touted to be the costliest Indian film yet.
With the three superstars being the highest grossing actors of their respective industries, and Rajamouli's track record being impeccable as it is, this could very well be the film of the millennium.
