I need to know Priyanka's secret: Katrina Kaif

Katrina talks about her upcoming film Fitoor, being romantic at heart and says PC should write a book on how she cracked Hollywood.

“Keeping faith, having belief and hope always is an important thing in life. That child-like quality should remain in us. We may not get that perfect romance in life but keeping that idealistic belief will keep you fresh. Keeping hate and anger within yourself will ruin you totally. You will not get happiness back.” Katrina Kaif seems to be in a philosophical mood when she says this. But then she is a self-confessed romantic.

“As a child, too, I would always read romantic books. Romance is universal,” she adds with a blush.

In her upcoming film Fitoor, Tabu plays her mother. Says Katrina, “Tabu’s character has had some bitter experiences and thus she becomes revengeful. She turns so sour in life that she does not allow her daughter to experience romance. I feel those who live without love, their lives are like a desert without an oasis. Revenge can never make one happy in life, we need to forgive and forget.”

Besides Hindi, Kat’s Urdu, too, has become quite good, as she has had to use the language a lot in the movie. “That was a hard task for me. Though I have tried to come close to perfection in Urdu as well as Hindi, for me speaking a language that I have not learnt from childhood will always be hard work.”
While she had always wanted to be a part of the Hindi film industry, she realises the effort it took for Priyanka Chopra to crack Hollywood as well.

“Priyanka deserves a pat on her back for she has been able to make it to Hollywood. It takes a lot of strength to focus doing films in Hollywood. She surely has amazing strength. I need to know her secret to success out there. She should write a book on it.”

She adds, “Priyanka is really strong as she has to travel for almost 22 hours, face the arc lights and then excel among the Hollywood actors. She has proved herself.”

Talking about how she prepares for emotional scenes, Katrina says, “For emotional scenes, I pace myself and get to that frame of mind.”

When asked how she would rate herself as an actor, Katrina quickly adds, “Rate myself? I can only say that one becomes competent with experience. The time and experience that you put in your work brings changes for the better.”
