Simran trailer: Kangana Ranaut is at her animated, mercurial best
Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut, with three national awards in her kitty, has no need to prove her acting potential anymore, but the actor seems to think otherwise.
In Hansal Mehta's 'Simran,' which follows the director's 'Aligarh,' still fresh on our minds, Kangana is at her mercurial, animated best, expressing and emoting like never before, giving her eponymous character, a creepy yet surprisingly affable edge.
The film had already been ridden in controversy, with Kangana's co-writer credits being brought under scrutiny. However the actor is bound to silence her detractors with this cracker of a trailer.
Simran, a divorced house-help, has embraced her flaws and taken a terrific liking to gambling and kleptomania. Her interactions might remind one of her 'Queen' act, but rest assured the film is bound to be much more than just another acting showreel.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, the film is slated for a September 15 release.
