Salman Khan's Hanuman Da Damdaar to be biggest pan-Indian release
Mumbai: It’s the season of firsts for the Indian film industry. The ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ team is planning to do what no Indian animation film has done before, have a massive pan-India release, coupled with a flood of merchandising.
Speaking about the change of plans, Rajesh Thadani, the Head of Distribution confirmed, ‘The trade is always quick to sniff out audience trends and we have been getting strong interest in going wider and bigger with the screens for this film. Like ‘Bahubali 2,’ the story of ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ has an appeal across languages and of course, the diaspora. Thus, we have decided to move our release date to June 2 for a big release.”
A good film is a good film, and it will reach across all sectors, all kinds of audience without any resistance. Recently we saw BAHUBALI 2 do it and looks like ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ is about to take the same forward. Films for children and that too animation is a market that is thriving the world over, and yet when it comes to Bollywood, one of the world’s largest film industry, the genre is almost neglected. But Filmfare Award winner Ruchi Narain, writer-director of ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ is all set to change that and offer a new cinematic experience, a summer bonanza! Judging by the response and the level of participation across platforms, it looks like indeed Hanuman is going to be Damdaar!
“We had an amazing response to our trailer and the activities in schools and theatres so were feeling optimistic, but things have got even better as now people are talking about content, and the audience being open to larger than life fiction stories, rooted in Indian history and mythology which is exactly what our film is!” exclaimed Ruchi Narain.
Written and directed by Ruchi Narain, ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ with an ensemble cast featuring voice overs by Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Kunal Kemmu, Chunky Pandey, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande and Javed Akhtar is been produced by R.A.T. FILMS, presented by RNB film in association with R.A.T films.
‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ releases on the 2nd of June.
