Depressed by sudden death of Pratyusha Banerjee, fan commits suicide
Raipur: Depressed by the sudden death of her favourite actress Pratyusha Banerjee, a woman, identified as Madhu Mahanand committed suicide on April 7.
Madhu, who hails from Chhattisgarh, was extremely depressed after the news of Pratyusha’s suicide went viral and she was closely following the case developments. Unable to live with the fact that her favourite star took such a drastic step, Madhu committed suicide in front of her two-year old son who was locked in the same room.
According to reports, the matter came to light when Madhu’s husband came back from office and knocked the door but nobody responded. Madhu’s son was in shock as he cried for hours seeing his mother hanging from the ceiling.
Police initially detained the woman's husband to verify his theory behind Madhu's suicide but later released him after the woman's parents also shared the same story. Madhu's neighbours informed police that the couple were happily living with each other since their marriage in 2012.
Pratyusha Banerjee, known for her role of Anandi in ‘Balika Vadhu’, committed suicide on April 1. Pratyusha hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in Kandivali and was taken to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where she was declared dead.
