Watch: Sheena Bora's intriguing mystery unravels in Dark Chocolate trailer
Mumbai: The mysterious Sheena Bora case caught everyone’s major attention in the country. Directed by Agnidev Chatterjee, the Bengali film is titled ‘Dark Chocolate’ and stars Mahima Chaudhary and Riya Sen in the lead roles. The film has been shot in the city and other parts of Bengal.
"I did not want to make a documentary so there has to be fictional inputs. But the story has been adapted for the film since it has many twists and turns. One character after another pops up in the plot. The Sheena Bora murder is one of the most shocking and diabolical crimes of our times. I have done a lot of research on the case based on reports and other sources and while I have tried to remain true to most of the events, some parts have been fictionalised for cinematic reasons and since the case on it is still going on," director Agnidev Chatterjee told PTI.
The murder mystery will mark Mahima and Riya's comeback on the big screen. Mahima plays the role of Ishani Banerjee, which is based on accused Indrani Mukherjee, whereas Riya plays the role of Rina Bardhan, a role that is inspired by Sheena Bora. The film also stars Sudip Mukherjee, who will essay the role of Peter Mukherjee.
