Watch: Is the latest Rock On 2 song plagiarised from Maroon 5's Sugar music video?

Both the videos set to the backdrop of surprise gigs at a wedding are uncannily similar.

Mumbai: 'Rock On!! 2,' is amongst the most awaited sequels in recent times, mostly owing to the immense recall value Abhishek Kapoor's 2008 prequel commands in the minds of the millennials.

Farhan Akhtar-Arjun Rampal-Purab Kohli-Luke Kenny's 'Magik' gave us memorable songs and the sequel, which has Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora joining the band, has a commendable soundtrack, as well.

But, if things are how they look like, the film's latest music video, 'You know what I mean', might just be plagiarised.

The song, evidently a flashback video from the band's heyday in the film, has Luke Kenny returning to the keys and the band playing a 'surprise gig' at a Christian wedding.

Rings a bell?

Yes, Maroon 5's immensely popular 'Sugar'.

The music video bears uncanny semblance to the international hit and a lot of the sequences seem 'inspired', as well.

'Rock On!! 2,' predominantly set in the north-east of India, is slated to release on November 11, 2016, and this piece of news might not leave a good taste with even the franchise's staunchest of loyalists.
