Hrithik is my son and I proudly take part in his life: Rakesh Roshan reminds Kangana

Mumbai: The war of words between superstars Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan just got uglier when Rakesh Roshan made a statement reminding those who find it unacceptable that Hrithik is his son and as his father, he takes pride in being an active part of his life.

As quoted by Indian Express, the yesteryear actor said, “I am still a working father and I proudly play an active part in my son’s life. And for those who find that unacceptable, let me say that for parents — children, whether 43 or 83 years old — are still children.”

In a recent interview, Roshan senior struck back at the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress, who had so far maintained stoic silence on this issue which stemmed out of Kangana addressing Hrithik as a ‘silly-ex’, saying that had Hrithik not kept his dignity aside and spoken the truth, it (the truth) would have shocked everyone.

He was reported as saying, "Hrithik is different, as when someone (Kangana Ranaut) was spreading lies about him, he chose to stay calm and dignified. If he does choose to come out with the truth, it will shock everyone."

The forthright person that Kangana is, the actress spoke her heart out at the launch of Chetan Bhagat’s book launch ‘One Indian Girl’. She was quoted as saying, “I want to know why Indian men can't stand for themselves. He (Hrithik) is 43 years old. Why his father always has to come to his rescue? For how long will he keep hiding behind their big influential father's name…He (Hrithik) is an adult and pretty much can handle his own controversies in show business. It is just a simple controversy. Why daddies have to save their son? I don't understand this.”

In retaliation, a few days earlier daddy Roshan had said he will speak at the right time. Kangana and Hrithik, who had once worked together in Rakesh Roshan’s home production ‘Kites’ as well as ‘Krrish 3’, are now involved in a legal scuffle with one another.
