Known for their entertaining films, Excel Entertainment has now ventured into producing digital content. The duo at the helm, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have joined hands with a leading shopping portal based in the west. A source reveals the latest reports around the venture. “Farhan and Ritesh are all set to produce shows for Netflix along with Amazon. Their first venture is a cricket-based show called Powerplay, for which they have roped in Richa Chadha in a leading role,” says the source.

“Last seen in Sarbjit, Richa will play the role of an entrepreneur who owns and runs a cricket team. As a part of her homework, the actress will also learn a few cricket tactics,” the source added. When contacted, the actress said, “I’m working on brushing up my technical knowledge of cricket. I have always been a spectator and now for Powerplay, I am working on knowing the sport better.” We also tried getting in touch with Ritesh but he didn’t get back to us.
