A movie for which fans are eagerly waiting is R Balki’s, Mission Mangal. Based on Indian Space Research Organisation’s Mangalyaan, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi. While the story majorly emphasises on women empowerment and shows the story of female scientists making the Mars dream a reality for India, the poster of Mission Mangal sparked off a debate as Akshay Kumar’s face occupied more space on it than the female leads.
Now, Sonakshi Sinha spoke about the same in a recent interview. Sonakshi mentioned that Akshay is one of the most bankable and selling actors in the cast of the film. The Kalank star stated this as a fact and said that since Khiladi’s numbers on the box office are better than other stars in the film, he was on the poster. However, the actress clearly stated that for the entire cast Mission Mangal has been a team effort and no one was made to feel inferior while working on it.
Sonakshi said, “To all of us, it was teamwork. Even while we were shooting, nobody was made to feel smaller than the other person. And the fact of the matter is that Akshay Kumar is the biggest star in the film! Someone had told me very long back and this line has stuck in my head: ‘Jo bikta hai, voh dikhta hai’. Today, if you see Akshay’s collections, he’s the highest selling star in the film, that is why.”
