Speculations have been abound for sometime now about a sequel to the superhit multi-starrer, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. However, while there has been no confirmation from the makers, the cast of the film surely seems excited at the prospect.
We caught up with Abhay Deol at a promotional event for his upcoming comic-caper, Happy Bhag Jayegi and when quizzed about whether he will take up ZNMD 2, this is what he had to say: “I would love to do ZNMD 2. Hrithik, Farhan and I are hoping that Zoya comes up with something amazing. There is tremendous pressure on Zoya, seeing as how people left their jobs after watching that movie. I personally know five such folks and 10 others who took a six-month break inspired by the movie. So the second part must be just as good if not better. But we all have the desire to make it. It is the most fun film I have ever done.”
We also asked Abhay about his non-commercial image and him being media shy and the actor responded saying, “That may be true industry wise, but not for the people or media. I don’t think that people or media have underrated me. I get reactions from people that I am underrated but when I ask them back if they rate me high as an actor, they say that they do.”
Talking about his detractors, he says, “If they have to come around, they will. It is all part and parcel of the business. It is getting more corporatised as the years go by. Money dictates everything. Ratings have become synonymous with returns. It is also my upbringing that I always try and keep it low key. I grew up within the industry and saw fame up close. People are constantly questioned here and that makes me shy. I like to keep it to the bare minimum,” he added.
