Chumbak is a journey of a 15-year-old teenager and a 45-year-old man played by Swanand Kirkire. The makers of the film will be introducing two new actors — Sahil Jadhav and Sangram Desai —with this film.

But the actor maintains that he didn’t take up the film to make money. “I am not worried about money and that is not the reason why I took this film. I make money from my other films but this I am not doing for money. This is a film that shows you the light, this is very touching,” says Akshay.

The actor who is a huge fan of Marathi cinema couldn’t stop gushing about the content generated. He says, “I love Marathi cinema and I feel their script and screenplay is much better than Hindi cinema. I have seen many Marathi films and they are much bolder than Hindi cinema. The content is the USP in Marathi cinema.”

The actor went on to say that he would like to remake the superhit Marathi film Balak Palak in Hindi. “It is a very bold film and Marathi films make great content. I would like to make it in Hindi,” he says.
