I've lost the count of articles written about me that were disturbing: Sonakshi Sinha

The breezy film, has Sonakshi play the eponymous character, a vivacious and spunky journalist.

Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha has fairly been credited for being a talented actress, but her choice of films have surprisingly been lacklustre.

However, the actress seems to be in no mood to compromise now, with 'Noor' looking like a film that is hell-bent on exploiting her acting credentials.

The breezy film, has Sonakshi play the eponymous character, a vivacious and spunky journalist based out of Mumbai, with her own quarter-life crises.

At the trailer launch which took place in Mumbai on Tuesday, the actress spoke about the character she plays in the film. “Noor isn’t getting opportunities to cover the kind of news she wishes to do, so she has to fight for it. Like you have come here to interview me, Noor doesn’t want to go to Filmcity to interview anyone. She wants to report the real stories about the city she really loves, Mumbai. So there’s a constant struggle there,” Sonakshi said.

The actress thanked all the journalist for she picked up the key elements for her role from them. She added, “And whatever knowledge of journalism that I have applied in the film, I got it from the journalists I have come across in my life. So thank you all.”

Film’s director, Sunhil Sippy had no doubt about casting Sonakshi for the role. “There was nobody else for this. There was no question of anybody else or doubt about casting Sonakshi for the film. We didn’t talk to anybody else either. I knew she was absolutely just perfect for it and I had no doubt in my mind about her. And I have been really really thrilled. I had everything on the plate for me. It was an absolute job. It was a great decision.”

Since Noor plays the role of a journalist in the film, she was asked if she was disturbed by something that was written about her, to which the actress jokingly replied, “It has happened so many times that I have lost the count. But I think it’s a part and parcel of the profession that we are in, I think. But it’s okay. Whatever happens, happens for a reason. You stay strong and move past it.”

“In Noor’s life, there comes a point where she realises that she hasn’t been responsible enough and then she tries to right the wrong. I think it’s a very beautiful coming of age story of this girl. This is her journey. I think everyone of us can relate to the story since all of us have gone through something that has changed us,” Sonakshi added.
