No takers for Tanushree Dutta

Bollywood’s #MeToo pioneer branded as a ‘trouble maker’.

Tanushree Dutta, who brought the #MeToo movement to Bollywood by being the first to speak out against sexual harassment by a senior actor, now has no takers in this hub of Indian cinema.

Tanushree, whose diary was pretty full between 2005 and 2010, had expressed a desire to make a comeback to the film world some time ago. However, sources say no one is willing to work with her, as she has been labeled a ‘trouble maker’ after her allegations of harassment against Nana Patekar.

A leading producer with a plethora of projects on the anvil says he would think not just twice but multiple times before casting Tanushree. “She wiped out Nana Patekar’s career. The thought of working with her is scary. Actors, technicians, they would all be nervous around her, wondering how to behave in a proper manner,” he said.

And so, sadly, Tanushree who left India in 2010 to make her home in USA, is left empty handed while ironically, those accused of sexual harassment are busy working round-the-clock in Bollywood.
