It was a digital-dramakedaar evening at this ritzy address on Residency Road! The team behind Sacred Games, a Netflix series, visited the city on Wednesday. Bengaluru loves Bollywood, so it was not a surprise to see people make a beeline to catch a glimpse of the star cast featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the svelte Radhika Apte, along with directors Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. Despite mammoth expectations, Anurag isn’t a bundle of nerves over this. He stated, “The middleman is gone. As a film maker, you are compelled to listen to exhibitors who say Aisa mat karo, yeh picture nahi chalegi, yeh bohot dark hai. I don’t have 50 people telling me what to make but only the audiences telling me whether something is working or not.”
Anurag, a self-proclaimed foodie, gorged on bisi dosa and chicken sukkha, and was pretty brief when asked about working with the other director Vikramaditya. Nawazuddin, who likes to keep it frills-free, and was curt on being asked about a ‘negative’ streak to his role. “The concept of good or bad is a very ‘90s thing. I don’t think there’s any blatant portrayal of negativity in my character. It’s all about your perspective. Let’s not label it.”
