Kriti Sanon slams insensitive coverage

“This isn’t “News”, nor is it “Entertainment”! Draw some boundaries!”, Kriti Sanon said

Two days ago, stand-up comedian Zakir Khan had shared a heart-wrenching poem he’d composed in which he slammed the needless, no-boundary coverage of celebrity funerals. The post was dedicated to the late actor Sidharth Shukla.

The late actor’s funeral, which was attended by several TV and film celebrities in addition to his family and friends, was covered extensively by the media but what stood out about the whole affair was the sight of several media persons thrusting their mics and cameras into the faces of the people visiting the funeral, asking for comments and reactions.

Actress and filmmaker Anushka Sharma had amplified it on her social media.
Mourning Sidharth’s death, she had respectfully said, “Rest in peace Sidharth Shukla. My heartfelt deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Now, actress Kriti Sanon has spoken up against coverage at Sidharth’s funeral. She was very pointed in her accusations of the insensitivity of the coverage.

In her Insta page, she left a note on her Stories, which read, “Breaks my heart to see our media, photographers and even online portals being so insensitive. Shameful! This isn’t “News”, nor is it “Entertainment”! Draw some boundaries! Have a conscience! Said it before, Saying it again [sic]! STOP covering funerals! Stop hounding people who are dealing with personal loss by flashing your camera in their face at their most vulnerable time! And for what? A few posts? Take a stand, DON’T post those pictures and videos! Stop faking sensitivity by just writing “Heartbreaking” in the captions of such inhuman insensitive posts.”
