Exclusive: No questions, no pics, Sridevi, Boney Kapoor protect Jhanvi at event
Sridevi looked stunning in her light green jump suit at the trailer launch of Mom. Her poise and beauty both mesmerised the present audience at the event. Not just the onlookers, there seemed to be a mutual admiration society going on between the Kapoor family too, even as parents Sri and Boney looked on protectively at daughter Jhanvi.
Even as both Jhanvi and Khushi were present, the talk shifted to the former’s new beginnings in Bollywood. Sri, known for her soft-spoken demeanour instantly retorted, “This is Jhanvi’s mom’s conference. So let’s get talking about Jhanvi’s mom!”
When quizzed about the changes she’s seen in her darling husband since her first movie, Sridevi laughed and said, “First and foremost, he’s put on loads of weight! However, he has always been a great producer, and he is quite the same even now, taking care of all his technicians.”
She further added, “Also, this time, I was allowed to just be away from him. During our shooting schedules, I would only come to the sets and wish him a good morning, and we would end the day with good evening. That’s all the pleasantries were exchanged with each other.”
It’s obvious that family has been of utmost importance for Sridevi. In an earlier chat she had once said, “If it wasn’t for the support for my mother, I would not have been able to work in films. And I’m also happy that my children want me to do films, even now. Without them, I would not have lasted in the industry for so long.”
Utterly devoted, Boney feels Sri is his soul. “In fact, not my soul,” he corrects himself. “But she’s my life.” He adds, “Sri is a very focused actor. She did not wish to live with me during the shooting schedules. I was made to live on a different floor.”
Even as the conference came to an end, the photographers called out to Jhanvi, who’s to make her debut soon. Instantly, Boney came to her rescue and took his daughter into his arms. “You will have many more opportunities to click her pictures,” he said, even as the team dispersed. A sure shot star in the making!
