Mumbai: The rumours of Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande parting ways came as a shock, especially since the duo had publicly announced that they were going to tie the knot by the end of 2016.
For quite some time, we have been hearing reports about their personal differences and on-going tiff in their relationship, which everyone assumed to be just another lovers’ quarrel.
While the two didn't officially confirm the split, fans of the couple were hoping for a reconciliation between the former love birds. However, Sushant took to Twitter to put an end to the speculations. He wrote, "Neither she was an alcoholic nor I am a womaniser . People do Grow apart & its unfortunate . Period!!"

The two started dating soon after they met on the sets of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ in 2009. Sushant and Ankita were a perfect example of love, started drifting apart soon after Sushant’s career shot to fame. Reportedly, the stardom and constant attention became too much for the two and their relationship.
While several reports claim that Sushant's closeness to his co-star Kriti Sanon was the reason for their breakup, others state that it was Ankita's clingy ways that caused the split.
On work front, Sushant is gearing up for the release of highly anticipated MS Dhoni biopic which has been directed by Neeraj Pandey.
