Bravo! Zareen Khan packs a punch against body shamers with an inspiring message
Mumbai: After her recent inspiring post on Instagram, Zareen Khan deserves all the admiration. The actress opened up about her weight loss journey in her post on bodyshaming. Along with her post, the actress shared two old pictures of her from the days when she was on much heavier side.
Known for her portrayal of Princess Yashodhara in the Salman Khan starrer 'Veer', the 28-years-old actress said in her post that she never used to get bothered with people's comment, as it was her life and her body and she had the right to decide for it.
"When I look at these pictures I feel proud of myself today not that I felt any lesser about myself back then. In spite of being so big I never let people's comments or ideas about me bother me because it is my life and my body and only I have the right to decide what I am gonna do with it.," Zareen wrote.
In her post, Zareen reveals how she was asked to put on few extra kilos to fit into the character for her first film. After her debut, the actress was body shamed by most for the weight gain. "When I became a part of this industry, I had lost all my weight. In fact I was asked to put on weight for my first film to look the character. Unfortunately I was criticized to no end for my weight but again I never let that get to me," she added.
With this, Zareen even said that weight-loss led to stretch marks on her body which she now likes to flaunt as it makes her feel like a tigress with stripes.
"Along with the weight loss came a lot of stretch marks but instead of feeling ashamed of it and trying to hide it, I believe in flaunting it. It makes me feel like a tigress with her stripes. I have come a long way in this journey of fitness and I still have a long way to go. But it is always been only for myself and not because of people shaming me.” Zareen concludes.
