Exclusive: Rangoon debacle puts Saif's Kala Kaandi release in trouble?

With Rangoon failing to make a mark at the box office, Vishal Bharadwaj has failed to rouse the audience with an original script. Despite top-notch actors and highly authentic looking sets, Vishal’s story lacked the charm one has come to expect from the maker of movies like Haider and Maqbool.

The movie’s lacklustre performance seems to have affected Saif Ali Khan too, whose next movie, Kala Kaandi, may have been affected by the Rangoon fiasco.

Says a close source. “Directed by Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma, Kala Kaandi stars Saif in the lead role. With the recent debacle of Rangoon, it looks like Kala Kaandi is not going to release soon. While the reason for the delay in release isn’t sure, the filmmakers are trying hard to get distributors on board, considering the recent phase of the actor.” We sent out a message to Akshay about the same, but did not receive a reply at the time of going to press.
