Actors Mahesh Manjrekar and Deepti Naval will star in a web show Pawan & Pooja by Siddharth P Malhotra, who helmed Rani Mukerji starrer Hichki last year.
The show follows the lives of three couples, all experiencing love at different ages. If one recalls, Malhotra’s last show Kaafir had created quite a stir in the industry with its powerful narrative and this show will head the same path.
“Pawan & Pooja discovers new aspects of love and it taps into the typical problems faced in today’s fast-paced life. Working with people like Deepti Naval and Siddharth Malhotra is always a delight because they understand the craft and the script is their topmost priority,” says Manjrekar about the show.
Meanwhile, Malhotra says that he was keen on exploring and playing with the subject matter. “I have always been driven by experimentation, I believe it allows us to innovate and learn while we deliver what viewers want. This show too started off with the same thought, we wanted to explore how love changes as we age,” he explains, adding that having a team that is aligned and wants to create quality content helps in building the right foundation which shines through in the final product.
On working with Manjrekar, the producer adds, “Mahesh is a veteran actor and it is visible in every shot he gives but once off-camera, one would never believe what fun person he is. We have some of the best memories on the sets of the show and I couldn’t be happier I had the opportunity to work with him.”
