Jet Airways suspends cabin crew as DGCA questions Sonu Nigam's mid-air show
In an interesting turn of events, five air hostesses of Jet Airways have been grounded for allowing artist Sonu Nigam to sing from the airline’s announcing system.
On January 4, passengers on a Jet Airways plane requested Sonu Nigam, who was in the same flight, to sing for them. The singer crooned few popular numbers much to the joy of passengers. Soon, videos of his impromptu mid-air concert were posted by some passengers and they went viral on social media.

However, the episode has not gone well with The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, as they have accused the crew members for allowing a passenger to take over the carrier's in-flight announcement system. Also, the crew had permitted use of cellphones in the air to take pictures which is against present regulation. They have been taken off flight duty for inquiry and corrective training.
Two years ago, a similar incident had happened to another private airline when it made crew members in some of its flights dance to a Bollywood song 'Balam Pichkari' on Holi.
