Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt look royal in Ashutosh Gowariker\'s \'Panipat\'

Mumbai: Director Ashutosh Gowariker is all set to unfold the saga of the Third Battle of Panipat with his upcoming magnum opus 'Panipat'. Starring Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau, the film recounts the events that led up to one of the bravest battles ever fought in the history of India. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles.

Arjun took to his social media handles to share the first character poster of the film. The actor announced that the trailer will release tomorrow. Sharing the poster, Arjun wrote, "Sadashiv Rao Bhau - Bravery Is To Stand For What You Believe In, Even If You Stand Alone. Panipat Trailer Out Tomorrow."

Kriti Sanon will be seen portraying the role of Arjun Kapoor's wife Parvati Bai. Describing her character, she wrote: "Parvati Bai - A True Queen Needs No Crown."

Sanjay Dutt will be essaying the role of Afgan warrior Ahmad Shah Abdali. The battle-ready Dutt is looking fierce and menacing with a full-grown beard accentuating his look. He shared a poster of his character from the film on his social media account with the caption,"Death strikes where his shadows falls".

Looking at the poster, it's evident that Sanjay Dutt's Ahmad Shah Abdali will prove to be a formidable enemy to Arjun Kapoor's Sadashiv Rao Bhau.

Veteran actors Zeenat Aman and Padmini Kolhapure will also play a pivotal role in the upcoming film. Ashutosh Gowarikar's upcoming saga, Panipat, is based on the third battle of Panipat. The director will be making his comeback with this film after the debacle of 'Mohenjo Daro' (2016) starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde.

Produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar, 'Panipat' will hit the screens on December 6 this year.
