Nihaar Pandya on being referred as Deepika's 'ex': I don't get worked up over it
Mumbai: Nihaar Pandya is all set to make his big Bollywood debut soon in Kangana Ranaut's highly anticipated biographical film 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.' He will be essaying the character of Baji Rao II in the upcoming period drama.
Talking about the scale of his forthcoming film, Nihaar said, "The strenuous war scenes of the film required me to learn horse riding and sword fighting from Nicholas Powell, one of the best Hollywood action directors who has directed action in films like 'Braveheart' and 'Gladiator'."
Nihaar and Deepika continue to remain cordial with each other even after ending their three-years-long live-in relationship. Nihaar told Mumbai Mirror that he is not upset about the 'Deepika Padukone's ex boyfriend' label. "I don't get worked up over it. Yes, even the press note about my acting debut that was sent out referred to me as 'ex-boyfriend' but there is not much I can do about it right now," he said.
Interestingly, Nihaar and Deepika, both started their careers with Himesh Reshammiya's popular music videos; while Nihaar was featured in I Love You O Saiyyoni, Deepika appeared in Naam Hai Tera.
'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', is being bankrolled by Kamal Jain and Zee Studios and directed by Kriah Jagarlamudi. Nihaar Pandya will share screen space with acting powerhouses like Kangana, Atul Kulkarni and Danny Denzongpa in the film. The film is slated to release on April 27, 2018.
