Mumbai: After the failure of 'Mirzya', director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra channelled his creative energy into production. The filmmaker will be now producing Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer 'Fanee Khan'.
Mehra has reportedly started working on his next directorial venture with a big Bollywood star in his mind to play the lead. The emotional drama would revolve round the relationship of a father and his son.
For the yet untitled project, the 'Rang De Basanti' director would require a veteran actor and a young hero. Now according to the report in DNA, a source close to development revealed that the director has approached 'Padmaavat' star Ranveer Singh.
A source mentioned, “Ranveer and Rakeysh met and discussed about working together. The filmmaker has bounced off the ideas to Ranveer, but nothing has been locked yet. They are going to have a few more meetings before they zero in on the film.”
Well, that could make for an interesting casting coup!
Meanwhile, Mehra's 'Fanne Khan,' which also stars Rajkummar Rao in pivotal role, is directed by Atul Manjrekar. The film is slated to release on August 3.
